What GPA do I need?
There is no shared cutoff. Alabama’s regular automatic tiers require GPA 3.50+. Ole Miss and Southern Miss use GPA bands; Texas Tech uses unweighted GPA, Oklahoma State uses weighted cumulative GPA, and Tennessee recalculates a weighted core GPA. Enter your own GPA in the finder, then confirm the university’s conversion method. Do not substitute a generic 4.0-scale estimate for a school-calculated GPA.
Full tuition or full ride?
No. Full tuition pays tuition; it may leave fees, accommodation, meals, insurance and travel unpaid. Southern Miss’s SAT 1420+ tuition tier with GPA 3.25+ is separate from first-year housing, which requires GPA 3.60+. Alabama’s Presidential Elite also limits its housing benefit to the first year. Compare covered costs and renewal rules rather than treating a tuition award as a full ride.
Can I use a superscore?
Only when the program allows it. Alabama requires an official total from one test date. Ole Miss, Texas Tech and Oklahoma publish superscore policies; Tennessee also specifies a composite superscore. Admission and scholarship policies can differ, so check the linked official program before combining scores from different sittings.
Scholarships without SAT?
Some programs offer that route. Ole Miss has a separate GPA-based International Academic Excellence program that cannot stack with its SAT/ACT award. Oklahoma considers international test-optional applicants holistically. UAH’s 2027–28 international F-1 table ↗ also lists GPA-based awards; students already residing in the U.S. are directed to a different table. Test-optional admission does not mean every scholarship is test-optional.
