What does a 1300 SAT mean here?
SAT 1300 meets the published test-score band for the $3,000-per-year 2026–27 international tier. A match is unconfirmed until Tennessee calculates a UT core weighted GPA of at least 3.8 and checks the remaining criteria.
The SAT filter can flag this as “GPA needs review,” never as a confirmed monetary match.
International Volunteer Scholarship: SAT and scholarship amounts
The GPA is UT’s own converted weighted core GPA. A self-entered GPA on a 4.0 scale cannot prove eligibility. The higher $9,000 and $18,000 tiers require a 4.0+ UT core GPA and higher SAT bands. The award cannot combine with other UT-funded institutional scholarships.

Can an international freshman receive this award?
This scholarship is for first-year international students holding a nonresident visa who will not graduate from a U.S. high school. The student must enter in the fall immediately after high-school graduation. International students graduating from a U.S. high school are directed to different scholarship guidance.
Deadlines, renewal and conditions
The 2026–27 source states score receipt by April 1, but its deadline and explanatory wording differ on which test dates are considered; verify the target intake and score deadline with UT. Do not treat those dates as a future-cycle deadline.
A qualifying SAT band is not an award offer. Check the admission decision, school-specific GPA method, supporting documents, scholarship rules, and deadline for your intended entry year.
